Guess what? It’s that time of the year again! Merry Christmas CLS families. Have any of your families had visits from an Elf on the Shelf? Well CLS has its very own Elf on the Roof.
Elf on the Roof, (Pastor Jeff Schrank) has a mission. Elf on the Roof hopes to make every child at CLS feel loved, and ultimately bring joy to the campus as a whole. Elf on the Roof explained the anxiety and stress that young students often feel, and he wants to give them a distraction from that stress or anxiety. Elf on the Roof said, “Christmas for the littlest of children becomes a great time of year to celebrate Christ’s birth. Connected to it becomes cookies, parties, and lights.” He truly captures how humanity gets caught up in the midst of gifts and all the other insignificant things associated with Christmas, instead of focusing on the purpose of Christmas: Christ’s coming to earth. This week, Elf on the Roof hopes to accomplish his dream of joy for all the children at CLS by singing Christmas carols, leading to a secret message, and allowing the class with the most correct answers turned into the front desk to get a prize. In the great words of Buddy the Elf, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.”
