Pastor Vern Ermeling (Former pastor at CC-L and now at Crown of Life – Sun City West) is working with Carry-On Travel of Washington, MO to provide a 6-day, 5-night trip to experience the sights, sounds and highlights of the “SHOW ME STATE” also known as Missouri. The trip is scheduled for April 17 -22.
In addition to two days of the major shows (including the Sight & Sound Theatre presentation of QUEEN ESTHER)and all the sights in Branson we will start the trip with a visit to St. Louis to see some of the traditional sites including The Arch, Shaw’s Botanical Garden, and the famous Union Station,
The main highlight of the trip will be visits to some of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) sites of Interest: Concordia Seminary St. Louis (tour and lunch with Dr. Dale Meyer), The Concordia Historical Institute (the history museum of all congregations in the LCMS), The International Center (Synod office), KFUO Radio (Longest running religions radio station in US – 98 years), Historic Trinity St. Louis (first LCMS congregation), and Immanuel St. Charles (Pastor Vern’s home congregation and one of largest churches in the LCMS).
For the return trip we will fly from Kansas City. On the way to KC we will stop to see The First State Capital in St Charles, Meramec Caverns in Sullivan (the hideout of Jesse James), as well as the Truman Presidential Library in Independence.
The price range will be somewhere from $1,650 to $2,350 – depending on rooming arrangements, airfare, & trip insurance.
