Thank you again for all the blankets and prayer shawls that were donated and created by our group. Thank you as well to those of you that donated yarn and knitting/crocheting needles and supplies. During this season, we are going to concentrate on making beanies and hats for cancer patients. If you are are interested in donating completed beanies, please drop them off in the office.
This is our meeting schedule for the next 5 months. We will be working on beanies for cancer patients receiving chemo. Please feel free to join us in-person for any or all sessions. We have yarn and patterns, unless you would like to use your own. Come knit or crochet with us OR work from home.
Details for knitting beanies:
For those that would like to use their own yarn or knitting/crocheting at home, please keep in mind the material you use for the beanies. It is important to use yarns that are soft and breathable when making hats for cancer patients. Many will recommend for you to use a cotton blend. The material should be soft to the touch and washable. Those that are receiving the beanies have sensitive heads, so wool and scratchy yarn hurts. Here is a link to suggested yarn.
