1 & 2 Peter and Jude: A Living Hope
Early Christians felt the pressures of living in a godless, hostile world. They faced persecution and even death because of their faith. The challenges for Christians today may look a little different, but they are just as real. 1 Peter was written to encourage believers of all time. Peter provides a guide to help us stand firm in our faith and counsels us to “love each other deeply” (1 Peter 4:8). He reminds us that our richest inheritance is in heaven.
Knowing he would soon be martyred for his faith, 2 Peter was written to address false teaching, heresy and complacency in the church. Both Peter and Jude warn all of us to beware of lies and distortions of God’s Word that can cause us to stumble or fall for Satan’s traps.
Join us to discover how Peter’s words of hope, advice for daily living and sound principles of faith are just as timely today as they were for the believers who first heard them.
